I’m not part of the C9, nor am I a bar dancer. I feel that I’ve had low material desires since childhood. When I applied for university after the college entrance exam, I only wanted to go to a small place. For me, what you study is not important; studying what you like is very important.
There are also many around me, like electrical engineers who went to Huadian with scores over 640 and civil engineers who went to Tsinghua with scores over 680.
For me, as long as I’m alive and have a stable job, that’s enough.
How many people from remote areas like my high school in Hunan can get into the C9? Even if you can enter the C9 through various special programs, you’ll only be given lousy majors.
The top scorer of our college entrance exam that year only got into Tsinghua’s civil engineering as the last one in the national special program.
The vast majority of people are just ordinary folks.
