Looking for a partner, like finding someone to solve problems together and interact from time to time; it’s definitely more interesting than doing it alone.
I’ve been in a similar situation to lz these past couple of days, stuck in a negative loop that I can’t get started out of.
Maybe I could arrange to go to the library or a study room, hoping it would be useful.
From Shuiyuan I saw the repost
I feel the OP could try to establish some daily habits to calm down first (because it seems the OP’s emotional distress might be causing some somatic symptoms?)
First, it’s summer vacation now, so don’t think about studying right away, especially the summer between freshman and sophomore year hhh
Second, try to do the same thing at the same time each day, especially something that makes you comfortable, like watching funny short videos. This will at least make you feel safe and give you something to look forward to.
Next, try taking a walk every evening. It’s been raining in Shanghai these days, and evenings are actually quite cool and the clouds look beautiful. As you gradually form this habit, it will support you; even if your studies aren’t going well, these habits will make you feel safe at certain times.
Then you can start trying some learning activities, such as using Duolingo each day to study a language you like, or watching a video on Bilibili each day about a topic you’re interested in. Small amounts add up, and before long you’ll find that after learning a little you want to learn something else.
Of course, you can post the whole process on Shu
Please, bro, stop sleeping in the dorm…… I’m damn at the library, and when I crash in the study room I wake up the next day feeling refreshed. Sleeping in the dorm = comatose; after waking my eyes are tired, or I just can’t wake up and end up sleeping for over ten hours.
Learning one a day means learning one a day ![]()
And I recently discovered that chess is especially good for grinding points; with morning and evening XP boost, a single game gives at least 40×2 XP
Seeing this just reminded me that I haven’t opened my Duolingo in n years ![]()
Keep going quickly
Doing Duolingo with people around you is indeed a great way to socialize, and using Green Bird effectively strengthens emotional bonds ![]()
No one around me ![]()
Duolingo is more like a mobile game ()

It’s Dongjiao ![]()
Actually there’s only one place in the library where you can stay overnight, and it’s not big; it’s extremely hard to snag during exam week (seems like only chairs? I don’t remember if there’s a sofa there
I’m not very familiar with Xuechuang, okay, I don’t know what Xiao Tengjiao is (
There are often posts from Yuanyou asking for help with swapping dorms/moving out and such, after all, the ones mentioned above are just temporary hacks for those who lack the conditions to create conditions ![]()
Screw‑driving spot, Golden Class Sanctuary ![]()
This is the Shanghai Jiao Tong rule
It seems that XJTU actually does consider the comprehensive score
When I was about to graduate from my undergraduate studies, I was just like you; fortunately, there were people who helped me, and some who drove me hard, and finally I staggered to graduation. Who could understand that feeling?
Actually, it may not really be about striving for something.
If life has become so chaotic that the normal rhythm is disrupted, then pushing forward in studies and other areas is precisely what you shouldn’t do; at that time you should relax.
It’s not necessary to give your all in class; just go easy, do a little, even copying a thick assignment isn’t forbidden.
If you feel life is a mess, try first to pull out a single thread from the tangled knot.
I’m not sure if Xianjiao also has some places that are open 24 hours. Personally, I fall asleep easily, so I might prefer a kind of open outdoor environment where I can just find a chair and sleep…
(But when I sleep at Xuechuang, I often wake up to find that everyone around me are teachers coming to visit, which is very awkward, so I can only pretend to keep sleeping
)
