Recommendation, works by Hiroyuki Imaishi that are on par with “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann”, “FLCL”, “Space Patrol Luluco”, “Promare”. Imaishi’s recent well‑known anime is “Edge Walker”.
His older works are American‑style Japanese manga filled with “malice” and R18 connotations; the art style deliberately imitates American comics, making it quite unique among Japanese manga.
No more spoilers; just search a small website online and you can see the older works. Enjoy.
