Help regarding 大创

May I ask the senior of the Information Engineering department:

  1. Is participating in Da Chuang (大创) once before graduation mandatory? Will you not graduate if you don’t participate?

  2. Does participating in Da Chuang (大创) help improve research ability?

1 I don’t know (because I’m not an information engineer), but computers are not required.
2 As far as I know, most likely there aren’t any. However, there are also examples of improvements.

It seems that before the 21st cohort of Information Engineering, there was no such graduation requirement.

1 Most likely not, I’ve never heard friends from the School of Information Engineering mention mandatory Da Chuang
2 No, in fact Da Chuang can foster a short‑term, quick‑and‑easy mindset, which is very harmful to genuine research.

  1. As far as I know, the Nengdong College (能动学院) requires completing an undergraduate innovation project that runs from the second semester of sophomore year to the junior year, overseen by teachers of the Nengdong College, and it counts as a course grade.
  2. Having fully participated in an undergraduate innovation project
