That’s great
I’m a bit curious lz, do you have any book recommendations for an introduction to philosophy? After my middle school exam, I flipped through Russell’s History of Western Philosophy and then stopped at ancient Greece ().
A senior sister from Peking University’s Department of Philosophy regrets having spent four years in this major
The purpose of some departments and professors is merely to swindle funding
Most people’s reading volume may be only a fraction of hers (referring to the specialized courses of various disciplines, not the philosophy department’s materials)
emmmm, it might sound like hell, but I personally started with Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason, and before that I read a book Oxford Very Short Introduction: Kant.
Of course I think beginners generally should first look at the history of philosophy, but no offense—many people consider starting with Russell’s history of philosophy to be a mistake. I personally recommend Copleston’s History of Philosophy, which has also been introduced in mainland China, translated as Copleston’s History of Philosophy, for reference.
Or check out Anthony Kenny’s A New History of Western Philosophy, which seems to have been introduced domestically as Oxford History of Western Philosophy.
So you still know the senior from Peking University’s Philosophy School?
Impressive
Thanks lz for sharing! Hope you have time to watch it during the summer break.
Just realized the OP changed their name… why is it so similar to “小康米”
Salute to the legendary chick‑magnet Lao Kangmi ![]()
(However, given that this name may have already left a very bad impression on the source friends, switching back to Revan wouldn’t be impossible either
I treat this name as some kind of hellish joke)

I saw it a few days ago, very interesting, 《Why can’t lovers become friends?》
Summary (not guaranteed to be completely accurate): The traditional model holds a monist view, believing that all human emotions and bonds, such as friendship, romantic love, colleague relationships, etc., are different degrees of manifestation of the same essence, which means they can be ordered and compared. The author cites Nietzsche’s “anti‑model,” proposing an opposite pluralist view, arguing that different human connections are essentially different, and therefore incomparable and not reducible to each other. The relationship between friendship and love is less like different ranks on the same ladder and more like different literary genres, such as the relationship between poetry and novels. Each kind of connection has its own unique, beautiful, but distinct and irreplaceable essence. The author thus criticizes the vulgar view promoted by popular culture that “love is a higher form of friendship,” and emphasizes that love and friendship are not only fundamentally different, but also incompatible, because a friend means “seeing the world in a similar way and sharing the world together.” In contrast, “lovers are each other’s everything,” they are each other’s whole world. They are like side‑by‑side and face‑to‑face, “people can stand side by side, and they can sit face to face, but they certainly cannot do both at the same time. Each posture has its own unique pleasure, but logically, having one necessarily means losing the other.”
Just left the dorm and got a whiff of stone azalea flowers ![]()
Oh my gosh, why is my Jiao Nan so naughty?
Here’s the thing: it makes me sick just looking at it, I’ve already blocked it.
The photinia flowers where we are seem to be about to fade; now the smell isn’t as intense.
Previously, Siyuan Nan Road was practically uninhabitable—just the scent made me want to vomit ![]()
We’re about to be done here too, thank the heavens
The first time I smelled it was incredibly fresh, incredibly delicious ![]()
Why does Xijiao also have stone laurel? Could it be that they learned it from Shanghai Jiao Tong?
Wow, maybe
(Could it be that it’s letting Jiaonan Wen Nan Siyuan? ![]()
This b smell can even repel mosquitoes, is it real?
There is indeed more than one, but due to the campus size, it definitely doesn’t have as many as Dongjiao.
By the way, why does your signature say “respberry”? Does it have any special meaning? ()
Could it be a Raspberry Pi?
