Thanks for the invite, I’m just passing by as a member of the 2021 Huazhong University of Science and Technology CS experimental class.
What the heck is the Huazhong CS entrance exam, it’s nothing but the student source.
It has been proven that these special classes cloaked in the experimental‑class label are mostly products of a Great Leap Forward set up on a whim by school leaders to raise the admission score line. Interestingly, for clueless high‑schoolers, each scam hits the mark.

It’s wrong, the leader set the class name to include the word “experiment,” which perfectly reflects the admirable virtues of Chinese people—sincerity, candor, and consistency :wink:

It could be said that the Computer Science Experimental class (计试) indeed has not fulfilled promises such as “providing ample academic resources and research guidance,” but it must be acknowledged that its most valuable resource may not be material at all, but rather this group of students—people who, at least at Xi’an Jiaotong University, are quite insightful—who end up gathering in one class, influencing each other and helping one another understand many things. For example, I was selected from the freshman cohort and transferred into the Computer Science Experimental class; I spent two months in the general program. If I hadn’t joined the class, I would definitely still be asking seniors which courses have high grades, doing

When I was at NUS, I met a classmate from your school’s experimental class who is strong in systems; he seems to be doing an exchange at Berkeley recently.

The situation at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (华科) is more complicated and not easy to explain in a few words. In short, riding the “undergrad‑master‑PhD” hype of the past two years and the few outstanding PhDs from Huazhong who went to Huawei (Pengfei Zuo, Ji Zhang, etc.), they attracted a batch of high‑school students, but the training program was not adequately prepared.
